Cheney lost this week’s Republican primary in Wyoming to Trump-backed challenger Harriet Hageman by a wide margin.

Rep. Liz Cheney recorded an interview that will air on ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” in which Cheney says the House panel investigating January 6 has been in discussions with former Vice President Mike Pence about testifying before the panel, and she hopes Pence will agree to appear before the committee wraps up its work.

“He played a critical role on January 6,” Cheney said. “If he had succumbed to the pressure that Donald Trump was putting on him, we would have had a much worse constitutional crisis,” she said.

“I would hope that he he will understand how important it is for the American people to know every aspect of the truth about what happened that day.”

Cheney lost this week’s Republican primary in Wyoming to Trump-backed challenger Harriet Hageman by a wide margin.

Afterward, Cheney was increasingly open about considering a 2024 presidential campaign.

She called Trump “a very grave threat and risk to our republic,” and said defeating him will require “a broad and united front of Republicans, Democrats and independents — and that’s what I intend to be part of.”
